She asked Mr. Boatman which <br />committee he was applying for. <br />Drew Boatman stated he was applying for the Public Safety Commission. <br />Councilmember Bauman asked which of the following strikes Mr. Boatman him as the most interesting: land <br />use and variance, economic programs, business retention and redevelopment, impacts of recreation in the <br />community, or the impacts of public safety services. <br />Mr. Boatman stated they were all interesting, but was most interested in public safety services. A close second <br />for him would be the impact of recreation in the community. He explained he took full advantage of the City's <br />park systems with his family. <br />Mayor Johnson asked if Mr. Boatman had any questions for the Council. <br />Mr. Boatman stated he did not have any questions for the Council. He appreciated how thorough the City's <br />website was in providing meeting times and agendas. <br />Mayor Johnson encouraged Mr. Boatman to contact the City with any further questions he may have. She <br />thanked Mr. Boatman for coming forward and being willing to serve the City. <br />Mayor Johnson and the rest of the Councilmembers welcomed Zachary Johnson. <br />Councilmember Strub asked Mr. Johnson to provide the Council with a brief summary of his background and <br />any involvement he has had in the community. <br />Zachary Johnson explained he was a teacher in Columbia Heights. He stated he was a graduate from the <br />University of Minnesota. Directly out of college he worked to eradicate invasive species and worked with <br />
