Recognition of Trevor HamdorPs promotion to Deputy Director ofPublic Safety. <br />Business <br />1. %=ViEon of Ftu rr <br />rw„ dorrs rxumrio„ to <br />City Manager Lotter stated the City would like to acknowledge and recognize Officer Trevor Hamdorf for <br />why Dire trrr arPublic <br />being promoted to the position of Deputy Director of Public Safety. <br />5al4y' <br />Public Safety Director Paetznick stated the New Brighton Department of Public Safety announces <br />that Trevor Hamdorf has been promoted to the position of Deputy Director of Public Safety <br />effective November 28th, 2016. Prior to his promotion, he served as a Deputy Fire Chief and as <br />the Crime Free Multi Housing Liaison/Crime Prevention Officer. Since 2001, Deputy Director <br />Hamdorf has served New Brighton in a variety of capacities in addition to his most recent roles, <br />including patrol officer, firefighter, Fire Captain, and currently as President of North Suburban <br />Hazmat Team. Hamdorf is an active member of the Minnesota All Hazards Incident <br />Management Team (AHIMT), and has been deployed statewide and nationally to assist with <br />natural disasters and other large scale public safety events. He reported Deputy Director <br />Hamdorf has received several honors, including recognition as the Police Officer of the Year <br />(twice) and the Firefighter of the Year. He has also helped to lead New Brighton to first place <br />finishes for National Night Out. Most recently, Hamdorf was recognized by fellow employees <br />when he received the 2016 Michael J. Walker Spirit Award. <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf thanked City Manager Lotter and Public Safety Director Paetznick <br />for promoting him to this position. He thanked his wife, family and the City Council for their <br />continued support. <br />Councilmember Strub stated he attended the Public Safety Commission meeting last night <br />where the group acknowledged Deputy Director Hamdorf on his achievements. He <br />congratulated Deputy Director Hamdorf on his appointment and thanked him for his service to <br />the community. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Deputy Director Hamdorf for taking on this new role and for all <br />that he does for the community. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen believed Deputy Director Hamdorf s work ethic spoke volumes and <br />congratulated him on his new position. <br />Councilmember Bauman thanked Deputy Director Hamdorf for his service and thanked his <br />family for their continued support. <br />Mayor Johnson listed the numerous qualities and characteristics she appreciated in Deputy <br />Director Hamdorf. She discussed the importance of Public Safety to the City and its residents. <br />She congratulated Deputy Director Hamdorf on his new position and thanked him for his <br />dedicated service to the City of New Brighton.
