Mayor Johnson stated she was excited by the great work being done in the City financially. She appreciated <br />the long-range planning that has been completed. She thanked staff and the City Council for all of their hard <br />work in this area. <br />Councilmember Burg agreed and understood the City was making huge headway in this area. <br />Davitt discussed the balances of the golf course, risk management, fleet replacement, and community <br />reinvestment funds with the Council. She commented on the Eagles Nest replacement project planned for <br />2017 and noted funds had transferred from the previous year. Further discussion ensued regarding the street <br />replacement program for the next 10 years. <br />Councilmember Burg commented on the benefits of organized trash collection. Lotter explained there were <br />studies that showed residents could save up to 20% of the City were to offer organized collection. <br />Councilmember Strub understood that trash haulers were a heavy user of City streets. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she would be willing to discuss this topic further. <br />Davitt briefly spoke to the Council regarding the City's fund balance policy. She noted the currently policy <br />requires the fund balance to be 44.54%. She recommended a transfer not be made from the General Fund to <br />the Community Reinvestment Fund until the Council can review the fund balance policy. <br />The City Council supported this recommendation. <br />Mayor Johnson thanked staff for the thorough financial report. <br />Worksession adjourned at 6:17 pm <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Terri Marohn <br />City Clerk <br />
