Staff <br />recommended the Council authorize the Mayor and City Manager to sign the agreement. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Mean Latter <br />City Manager Lotter reported on Thursday the DX Response team with be meeting with <br />contractors regarding the water treatment facility. He explained the City would be entering <br />into a contract with an inspector to assist the City with Electrical Inspections. He stated staff <br />has been working with the school district and was hoping to move the food shelf into the <br />Community Center. He indicated the Community Center has had several leaks with the recent <br />rains and staff was investigating this matter. <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman stated she was unable to attend the EDC meeting in May. She <br />understood the EDC discussed the Comprehensive Plan update. She explained the Council met <br />with CTV's Executive Director Cor Wilson in a worksession meeting today and discussed core <br />programming needs for the future and how programming will be impacted with a reduced <br />budget. <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported he had the pleasure of attending the Police Memorial Service <br />on Thursday. May 18th which was hosted by the New Brighton Department of Public Safety. <br />He stated this was a humbling experience and he was proud of the Public Safety Department <br />for putting on this wonderful event. He stated on Saturday, May 20th he visited EurnTech <br />where he got to see a number of Mini Coopers. He thanked the Planning Commission for the <br />lengthy discussions they had at their Tuesday, May 16th meeting. <br />Mary 13111-c-, <br />Councilmember Burg reported PREC would meet again on Wednesday, June 7th. She <br />understood there was a growing need for pickleball courts in New Brighton and stated this <br />would be discussed in June. She encouraged residents to visit the New Brighton Dairy Queen <br />on Tuesdays each month where 10% of the proceeds were provided to the NBCC for <br />scholarships. She stated the NBCC would be closed on Memorial Day. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported there was no Public Safety Committee meeting in May. He <br />noted the group would meet next on Monday, June 12th. He indicated the Public Safety <br />Department would be holding a fundraiser for the Torch Run for Special Olympics on <br />Tuesday. May 25th at Cub Foods from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. He explained the Public Safety <br />Department would be participating in the VFW's Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 29th <br />He stated he was pleased by all of the work that had been conducted at Hanson Park given all <br />of the rain the City has received this spring. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson re ported she also had attended the Police Memorial Service on -1-hursday, May <br />181" which was hosted by the New Brighten Department of Public Safety. She thanked the <br />Public Safety Department for putting on an outstanding event. She was pleased by the number <br />of law enforcement families in attendance.
