Resolution for Consideration of Bids and Award of City Project 17-1, 2017 <br />Street Rehabilitation. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to accept all bids and <br />adopt a Resolution awarding a contract for City Project 17-1, 2017 Street Rehabilitation <br />to the lowest responsible bidder, T.A. Schifsky & Sons Inc., in the amount of <br />$1,115,132.10. <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting would be <br />presenting this item to the Council. <br />Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting explained this project consists of the <br />reconstruction of approximately 1.40 miles of residential streets by the removal of the existing <br />bituminous surfacing, removal and replacement of broken or settled sections of concrete curb <br />and gutter, storm sewer construction, hydrant and valve replacement, street excavation and <br />grading, aggregate base, bituminous surfacing, and boulevard repair improvements on the <br />following streets: <br />Forest Dale Road - Silver Lake Road to Redwood Lane <br />Redwood Lane - 5th Street NW to cul-de-sac <br />8th Street NW - Redwood Lane to cul-de-sac <br />Seminary Drive - Stinson Blvd to cul-de-sac <br />Yankton College Lane - 5th Street NW to Seminary Drive <br />Mission House Lane - 5th Street NW to Seminary Drive <br />Mission Court - Mission House Lane to cul-de-sac <br />12th Ave NW - County Road E to cul-de-sac <br />Wedgewood Court - County Road E to cul-de-sac <br />Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting reported the low bidder, T.A. Schifsky has <br />done work for the City in the recent past, and is qualified and capable of performing work of <br />this kind and magnitude. Staff reviewed the project timeline and stated if awarded, the contract <br />requires project completion by October 31, 2017. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Council Business <br />1.
