July 11, 2017 Pape 6of6 budget. Brian Strub Councilmember Strub reported the Planning Commission would be meeting next on Tuesday, July 181h at 7:00 p.m. He explained he was looking forward to National Night Out, which would be observed on Tuesday, August 15`. Mary Burg Councilmember Burg reported PREC would not be meeting in July, but held two meetings in June. She discussed the upcoming treatment planned for Long Lake and noted this month was National Park and Recreation month. She encouraged residents to attend an event being planned for Tuesday, July 18th. She thanked the local Eagle Scout that finished a trail connection within the City. She invited residents to make a donation to the local food shelf stating there was a need throughout the summer months as children were not in school. She suggested shirts be made to advertise Change for the Better and that the City Council wear these during Stockyard Days. Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, July 10th where the group received an update on the Comprehensive Plan Update from HKG. He stated the group also discussed body cameras and traffic along Cleveland Avenue. He invited the public to visit the Farmer's Market on a weekly basis every Wednesday at the Seminary from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. He explained he was looking forward to attending National Night Out events on Tuesday, August 1 st and encouraged residents to get their events registered with the Public Safely Department. He noted Stockyard Days was coming up and would be held August 6'h through August 14th. lie reported the Stockyard Days Committee was seeking volunteers on Wednesday, July 121h at the Eagle's Club at 7:00 p.m. He stated he would like to see the City Council holding an off-site meeting in the community again this summer. Mayor Johnson Mayor Johnson reported she attended the Five Mayors meeting on Monday, July l 0th where the group discussed the TCAAP development. She explained she would be attending the TUV SUD groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, July 121h . She encouraged residents to visit the City booth at Stockyard Days to offer comments or suggestions. She stated she was looking forward to Stockyard Days and noted there was still a need for additional volunteers. She provided further comment on the numerous events being planned for Stockyard Days.
