DeSchane {Tom} joined the City of New Brighton on January 24, 1983; <br />WHEREAS <br />WHEREAS <br />WHEREAS <br />WHEREAS <br />and <br />During the course of his 34 years of service for the Fire Division, Tom has served the <br />citizens of New Brighton as an on-call Firefighter, Fire Captain, and Deputy Fire <br />Chief of both Training and Operations; and <br />After his lengthy career, Tom leaves the Department having responded to countless <br />calls for service, including participating in significant New Brighton fires and <br />rescues, including the Williams Pipeline explosion in ‘86; and <br />During the course of his 34 years of service, Tom was an instrumental agency leader <br />in delivering instruction to firefighting peers on his expertise of building <br />construction, maintaining the fire apparatus fleet and equipment, and serving on the <br />building committee for construction of the Public Safety Center; and <br />Tom now leaves the Fire Division to dedicate more time to pursue other interests, <br />including his family and business; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, in recognition of his 34 years of service to the citizens of <br />New Brighton, members of Public Safety, and all other City staff, we designate Tom DeSchane an <br />Ambassador of the City of New Brighton, and offer our sincerest congratulations to: <br />Thomas A. DeSchane <br />and extend our heartfelt thanks, and our fondest wishes for a happy, <br />healthy, and extremely long retirement. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my <br />hand and caused the Seal of the City of New Brighton, <br />Minnesota to be affixed this 24th day of January, 2017. <br />VALERIE JOHNSON – MAYOR
