Paetznick, Director of Public Safety <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br /> <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Welcome and introduce newly promoted Deputy Director Trevor Hamdorf to the residents of <br />New Brighton. <br /> <br />Explanation: <br />The New Brighton Department of Public Safety announces that Trevor Hamdorf has been <br />promoted to the position of Deputy Director of Public Safety – Administration effective <br />November 28th, 2016. Prior to his promotion he served as a Deputy Fire Chief – Safety and as <br />the Crime Free Multi Housing Liaison/Crime Prevention Officer. <br /> <br />Since 2001, Deputy Director Hamdorf has served New Brighton in a variety of capacities in <br />addition to his most recent roles, including patrol officer, firefighter, Fire Captain, and currently <br />as President of North Suburban Hazmat Team. Hamdorf is an active member of the Minnesota <br />All Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT), and has been deployed statewide and <br />nationally to assist with natural disasters and other large scale public safety events. <br /> <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf has received several honors, including recognition as the Police Officer <br />of the Year (twice) and the Firefighter of the Year. He has also helped to lead New Brighton to <br />first place finishes for National Night Out. Most recently, Hamdorf was recognized by fellow <br />employees when he received the 2016 Michael J. Walker Spirit Award. <br /> <br />Hamdorf has been a leader of the City Safety Committee and Citywide Action Team, emulating <br />the “one city” mantra as he works across municipal departments for effective service delivery. <br />For the past six months, he has been assisting Administration with Human Resources functions. <br /> <br /> <br />________________________________________ <br />Anthony S.
