REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consider Authorization to Purchase a 2017 Ford Fusion to <br />Replace Unit 081 a 2008 Chevrolet Impala <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br />Recommendation: <br />Authorize the purchase through the State of Minnesota contract for replacement of unit 081 (2008 <br />Chevrolet Impala) with a 2017 Ford Fusion. <br />Legislative History: <br />Council adopted the 2017 Capital Fleet Replacement Budget at its December 13, 2016 meeting. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The City of New Brighton Fleet Capital Replacement Plan has $34,000 budgeted for this <br />expenditure which has been deferred for two years. The total purchase price is anticipated to be <br />$29,898.08 with an estimated net budgetary impact of $26,898.08. <br />ITEM COST <br />2017 Ford Fusion State Contract Price $22,959.40 <br />Squad Outfitting $4220.68 <br />Contingency $2,718 <br />Total Expenditure $29,898.08 <br />Estimated Auction Proceeds $3,000 <br />NET BUDGETARY IMPACT $26,898.08 <br />Explanation: <br />Based upon the Vehicle Condition Index (VCI) provided by Public Works Unit 081, a 2008 <br />Chevrolet Impala qualifies for replacement. The replacement of this unit has been deferred since <br />2015.
