Competencies include: <br /> <br />- Knowledge of college policies and procedures relating to enrollment, admission, financial aid, assessment and <br />academic progress <br />- Knowledge of MnSCU policies and procedures, high competency in SEVIS, ISRS, Hobsons, NSLDS, MnSCU Registration <br />Module, MnSCU Web Communications, EDconnect <br />- Knowledge of F-1 and J-1 Visa regulations, including entire International Student life-cycle – from recruitment to OPT <br />and/or transfer <br />- Knowledge of advising models and effectiveness, collating of educational resources for student advocacy and success <br />- Certified in Microsoft Access, specifically using operational data to run student reports <br /> <br />Experience <br /> <br />International Academic Advisor / Instructor <br />Concordia University St Paul, MN 10/2015 – Present <br />- Serve as primary advisor and Designated School Official for International students <br />- Provide academic and financial advising to all International students, advise domestic students with Math <br />and Computer Science majors, manage all communications to International Students from prospective to <br />graduation. <br />- Teach CSP Seminar and College Turning Points, two academic success courses dealing with academic skills <br />and campus engagement. <br />- Monitor enrollment and student club engagement to ensure student success. <br /> <br /> <br />International/Academic Advisor - Financial Aid Specialist <br />Dakota County Technical College Rosemount, MN 7/2012 – 10/2015 <br />- Serve as Primary Designated School Official for International Students, oversee and train work of DSOs in <br />areas of policy and regulation change, maintain accurate data and files for all International Students, <br />manage all communications to International Students from prospective to graduate/transfer. <br />- Provide academic and financial advising to incoming and current students. Create degree plans, maintain <br />enrollment records, advise students from admission to graduation. Maintain degree audits, work with <br />faculty to maintain relevant information as it relates to academic programs. Lead orientation activities, <br />develop academic success plans with students and families. Give campus tours, admissions presentations, <br />attend recruiting events on behalf of college. <br />- Monitor and manage enrollment and waitlists for specific programs and populations. Consult with <br />administration and faculty to ensure enrollment and admission to the programs are run appropriately. <br />- Serve as backup Certifying Official for Veteran’s Administration. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
