REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consideration of approval of the 40th Annual Town Hall/Open House <br />meeting agenda and allowing use of temporary signage to promote the event. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets & <br />Development <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br />Recommendation: Approve the Town Hall/Open House meeting agenda and approve the use of <br />temporary signage to promote the event. <br />Legislative History: Every year the Council is asked to approve the annual Town Hall/Open <br />House meeting agenda and allow the use of temporary signage to promote the event. <br />Financial Impact: The 2017 budget allocates $2,200 for this event. <br />Explanation: In order to promote the annual Town Hall/Open House event, the City has used <br />temporary signage throughout the city displaying the date, time, and location of the event. In <br />order to utilize use of temporary signage for “civic celebrations”, Zoning Code Section 9-040(2) <br />(F) requires that permission be granted by the City Council. <br />The annual event will be held at the New Brighton Community Center on April 29, 2017 from <br />8am to noon.
