In the Community
Collaboration with Outside Groups

Admin staff worked with outside groups. They helped Community
Partners in Youth (CPY) with their spring banquet and presented
Cub Scouts working on the Webelos rank information about local
government. Admin staff appeared on New Brighton now to
educate voters about accommodations available for voters who
have special needs.
Recruitment of Election Judges
Admin worked with the New Brighton Farmer’s Market, the League
of Women Voters, Applewood Pointe and Windsor Green,
Moundsview High School, Irondale High School and Creighton
Durham Hall and a number of New Brighton organizations,
churches and businesses to recruit election judges.
Did you know that…?
All city commissioners got iPads last year and the
meeting packets now get distributed electronically.
IPads are the property of the City and Commissioners
need to return them when their terms expire.

IT Upgrades
In January 2016, IT removed
300 feet of old network
infrastructure and installed
6,000 feet of new Network
cable as well as two central
network patch panels in the
lower level of City Hall as part
of the remodeling project.
Keeping this project in-house
saved the City about $7,000
and changed the City’s
internet speed from 10 meg
to 100 meg which allows the
public to more easily register
on-line for Parks and
Recreation classes and make
on-line utility payments.

53,610…
…that’s how many visits the
new City website had during
the first month after it
launched.
