2

Focusing on 2017:

New Brighton Lions Park
Work began on New Brighton Lions Park in November of 2016. Construction will continue
throughout 2017 with a goal of opening the park in 2018. Amenities that will be included in the
park include a softball field, lacrosse field, play area, trails, and related park amenities.

The City partnered with Ramsey County Parks on the project. A cooperative agreement has
been established. As a result, a shared restroom facility and larger parking lot will be
constructed on Ramsey County property. In the future, Ramsey County will add a park shelter
on County property.

A playground focus group has been meeting since October 2016 to help design and choose the
playground structure. The group is approaching a recommendation.

Special thanks to the New Brighton Lions Club for their support and financial donation to the
park. The Lions Club is contributing $25,000 for four years, totaling $100,000.
