<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consideration of a Resolution approving a Site Plan Amendment for <br />Big Blue Box for the unaddressed property located immediately east of 587 1st Street SW. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets & <br />Development <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br /> <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br /> <br />15.99 Deadline: August 22, 2017 <br /> <br />Recommendation: Adopt the Resolution provided, approving the request as submitted and <br />subject to three conditions. <br /> <br />Legislative History: July 18, 2017: The Planning Commission considered the request and <br />voted unanimously to recommend approval consistent with the three conditions recommended by <br />staff. <br /> <br />August 23, 2017: The City Council adopted Resolution 2016-077, approving a Site Plan, Special <br />Use Permit, and Nonconforming Use Permit for Big Blue Box. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: None <br /> <br />Explanation: The applicant sought land use approvals in last year for construction of a one- <br />story, 3,360 SF office building and associated parking, landscaping, and utility improvements at <br />the unaddressed site located immediately east of 587 1st ST SW. The applicant is now requesting <br />to amend those previous approvals, allowing instead to construct a smaller, two-story, 3,180 SF <br />office building (footprint of 1,590 SF). All other site improvements remain unchanged. <br />In August of 2016 the applicant made application for a Site Plan, Special Use Permit, and <br />Nonconforming Use Permit. Those requests were approved by the City Council on August 23, <br />2016 per Resolution 2016-077. This land use request only examined the changes to the Site <br />Plan, as the other requests remain approved and will not be affected by the Site Plan amendment. <br />Further, the conditions of Resolution 2016-077 remain in effect unless otherwise amended <br />herein. <br /> <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />REPORT DATE: 7/19/2017 <br />MEETING DATE: 7/25/2017
