July 11, 2017 Page 6 of 6 <br />budget. <br /> <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Planning Commission would be meeting next on Tuesday, <br />July 18th at 7:00 p.m. He explained he was looking forward to National Night Out, which <br />would be observed on Tuesday, August 1st. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported PREC would not be meeting in July, but held two meetings in <br />June. She discussed the upcoming treatment planned for Long Lake and noted this month was <br />National Park and Recreation month. She encouraged residents to attend an event being <br />planned for Tuesday, July 18th. She thanked the local Eagle Scout that finished a trail <br />connection within the City. She invited residents to make a donation to the local food shelf <br />stating there was a need throughout the summer months as children were not in school. She <br />suggested shirts be made to advertise Change for the Better and that the City Council wear <br />these during Stockyard Days. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, July 10th <br />where the group received an update on the Comprehensive Plan Update from HKG. He stated <br />the group also discussed body cameras and traffic along Cleveland Avenue. He invited the <br />public to visit the Farmer’s Market on a weekly basis every Wednesday at the Seminary from <br />3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. He explained he was looking forward to attending National Night Out <br />events on Tuesday, August 1st and encouraged residents to get their events registered with the <br />Public Safety Department. He noted Stockyard Days was coming up and would be held <br />August 6th through August 14th. He reported the Stockyard Days Committee was seeking <br />volunteers on Wednesday, July 12th at the Eagle’s Club at 7:00 p.m. He stated he would like to <br />see the City Council holding an off-site meeting in the community again this summer. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported she attended the Five Mayors meeting on Monday, July 10th where the <br />group discussed the TCAAP development. She explained she would be attending the TUV <br />SUD groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, July 12th. She encouraged residents to visit <br />the City booth at Stockyard Days to offer comments or suggestions.
