replacement bid has been approved. Demolition will take place the week of Labor Day and re-
open in November.

Council Member Jacobsen noted that at the June 21 Council meeting, our newest police officer,
Officer Wodnick, took the Oath of Office. Thank you for everyone who came out for this. Also
at this meeting, a rezoning for 256 Cleveland Ave SW was approved. A bid was awarded for the
2017 street reconstruction which came in about 32% less than anticipated. Council also
approved water plant staffing changes; add one FTE and change some roles of existing
employees.

Old Business
A. Police Worn Body Camera Public Comment Process

Director Paetznick noted we are preparing for the public comment gathering process; he has
looked at surveys that other cities have done to assist with our survey. Director Paetznick went
through the list of proposed survey questions for discussion and suggestions. Director Paetznick
will edit the survey questions to include these suggestions.

Commissioner Howard asked if a survey of our police officers was also going to be done. How
do they feel about body cameras? Director Paetznick noted a staff survey will also be done.

New Business
A. Referral of Cleveland Avenue Traffic Concerns

Director Paetznick noted that with the Council approval, at the last Council meeting, of the
proposed development at 256 Cleveland Ave SW, residents are concerned about increased traffic
volumes so this traffic concern will be referred to the Public Safety Commission. Director
Paetznick noted Cleveland Ave is a county road so any recommendations would need to be
coordinated with Ramsey County. Director Paetznick noted traffic concerns were already
present in this area before the development approval.

Adjourn

Commissioner Hollimon made a motion to adjourn the July Public Safety Commission meeting;
seconded by Commissioner Ghouse. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:34 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

_______________________
Julie Forbord
Office Supervisor
