12th. Lotter stated there was not enough time to provide proper notice for the proposed change if addressed on <br />December 5th. Therefore, the Council would have to wait to address the matter at their December 12th meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strub recommended the Council direct staff to draft an Ordinance that would move local <br />elections to even numbered years. He discussed the law change made by the State legislature that now allows <br />the City to lengthen or shorten terms. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson expressed frustration that this item has been discussed and no action has been taken. She <br />agreed this item should move forward for a vote. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bauman believed the proposed change was self-serving. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg indicated the role of the City Council was to act as leaders in the community for the <br />people.
