2

“The New Brighton Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the
community, is dedicated to protect, serve and educate. We value and
promote a respect for human dignity by ensuring a common goal of a safe
community.”

I. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION

On January 1st shortly after midnight, a man walks home from the bar and passes out on
the couch. The problem is though it was not his home. The actual homeowner calls the
police and requests we deliver the party to his proper home. The homeowner did not
wish to pursue charges.

On January 2nd, Officer Amberg stops a party where the driver shows a couple warrants.
The driver ignores Officer Amberg and tries to walk away claiming to be Jesus Christ
and also St. Thomas. Due to having obvious mental issues, Officer Amberg places a
Transport Hold on the driver and has an ambulance take the driver to get a psychological
evaluation at the hospital. The following day the hospital advises they are going to
release the party so squads responded and arrested him on the warrants. He was booked
at the LEC for the 2 outstanding warrants. He was still claiming to be St. Thomas and
Jesus Christ at the time he was taken to the LEC.

On Saturday January 7th, squads were dispatched to LA Fitness on a basketball player
who became upset and knocked out another player. The knocked out player was
transported to the hospital. The suspect fled the scene. He was identified by witnesses
and staff. The investigation is on-going.

On January 8th, squads were dispatched where a party assaults his wife and her son. A
friend of the husband assaults the other son of the wife then prevents parties from calling
911. Squads locate the husband and friend driving away from the home. The friend is
driving and happens to also be intoxicated. The husband was arrested for a felony
domestic assault (due to having 2 qualifying priors) and the friend is arrested for the 911
interference and for 2nd degree DWI-Test Refusal.

Just before 7am on January 11th, Officer Krebsbach observed a vehicle drifting around
corners, speeding and driving recklessly. Once stopped, the driver said he was driving
that way due to being bored. The driver ended up having a Domestic Assault warrant.
The driver was cited for the driving violation t hen booked at the Ramsey County jail for
the warrant.

On January 12th, squads responded to a 90 year old male in full arrest. CPR was initiated
at the scene. The patient received a total of 5 shocks from the AED. A pulse was
regained and the patient started to breath on their own. Party was transported to the
hospital.

On January 17th, squads assisted Mounds View PD with a 3 year old in full arrest. With
numerous family members on scene, New Brighton squads assisted with scene control.
