Upon arrival, squads learned the child was severely autistic
and was not able to tell the officers where he lived. The decision was made not to pursue but the
vehicle continued on at its high rate of speed. The vehicle struck another vehicle before
eventually losing control and crashing into the ravine near the New Brighton Community
Center. The driver fled and was not located. A female passenger was located. The
driver was identified as a 45 year old Fridley resident. He was later picked up by Fridley
PD where several agencies had been looking for him on various crimes.

On June 6th, a 74 year New Brighton resident gets into a traffic altercation that resulted in
the 74 year old stopping their vehicle in the middle of Long Lake Road, exiting their
vehicle then pounding on the window of the other driver.
