Staff reviewed the request in further detail and requested the Planning Commission recommend the <br />City Council approve Ordinance No. 850. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nichols-Matkaiti questioned when this Ordinance would take effect. Planning Director Gundlach <br />reported the Ordinance would become effective May 3rd. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jones believed the language was unclear within Item 11 regarding occupancy. He suggested this <br />portion of the Ordinance be clarified. He asked what type of insurance would be required from the homeowners. <br />Planning Director Gundlach stated the unit would be required to be insured either by the manufacturer or the <br />homeowner. <br /> <br />Commissioner Danger discussed the importance of having insurance on the temporary health care dwelling to cover <br />the property owner from any general liabilities. Planning Director Gundlach reported the City Attorney reviewed <br />this Ordinance and was supportive of Condition 13. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commissioner Jones to close the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br />Commissioner Danger questioned if the Ordinance had a definition for occupant and caregiver. Planning <br />Director Gundlach stated the Ordinance did not have these definitions and explained the intent of the Ordinance was <br />to allow for an individual that qualifies for a temporary health care dwelling to have their spouse stay with them, or a <br />health care professional. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jones suggested the language within Item 11 be stated to read: mental or physically impaired person <br />under the license. The Commission supported this recommendation. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Frischman, seconded by Commissioner Danger, to approve staff <br />recommendation as amended. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Other Business: <br /> <br />(A) Selection of a Chair and Vice-Chair for the upcoming year. <br /> <br />Gundlach requested the Commission appoint a Chair and Vice-Chair to serve the Planning Commission for the <br />coming year. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Frischman, seconded by Commissioner Danger, to appoint Erin Nichols- <br />Matkaiti as Chair of the Planning Commission for 2017. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0. <br />
