Public Safety <br /> Department <br /> INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: 7/6/17 <br /> <br />TO: Janice Gundlach, Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development / <br />Planning Director <br /> <br />FROM: Kip LaMotte – Fire Marshal <br /> Trevor Hamdorf - DDPS <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Big Blue Box <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />In lieu of the sprinkler requirement in 1306 adopted by the City of New Brighton and the non- <br />sprinklered proposal of the new Big Blue Box two story building, the city is requiring a fire <br />hydrant to be installed on the property near 1st Street SW. There is a city water main on the <br />north side of 1st Street SW to tie in with. <br /> <br />The city will require an un-obstructed width of 20 feet to be maintained per MSFC 503.2.1. <br /> <br />The city will require confirmation the storage configuration on the property can handle the <br />turning radius of fire department vehicles, as shown below. <br /> <br /> <br />
