2 <br /> <br /> Gift Law <br /> City Council Expectations <br /> <br /> B. Comprehensive Plan Review <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning Director <br />Janice Gundlach stated the Comprehensive Plan Process started the end of <br />2016. There is a page on the City’s Website that talks about it. We have <br />received public comment. Have met with Council and now going to all the <br />Commissions to get additional feedback before we launch a broader effort on <br />Stock Yard Days. <br /> <br />Representative Brad Scheib from Hoisington Koegler Group gave a <br />presentation on the Comprehensive Plan Review. <br /> Mr. Scheib stated he does have information related to Parks and <br />Recreation continuing and emerging trends. He stated there can be <br />more discussion on this later. <br /> Comprehensive Plans are updated every 10 years as requested by <br />Metropolitan Council. <br /> Review of Takeaways from Community Engagement <br /> Vision and Guiding Principles <br /> Key Concepts and Ideas <br />o Land Use <br />o Parks / Open Space / Connectivity <br />o Community Development Ideas <br /> Next Steps <br /> <br />VI. Announcements <br />A. Council Report – Council Member Burg <br />No Report. <br />B. Chair Updates <br />Chair Fields commented he will be absent for the August meeting. No Vice- <br />Chair is in place. Chair Fields asked for a volunteer to lead the meeting. <br />Commissioner McEathron commented he will be absent as well. Chair Fields <br />stated there has been progress at Lions Park; grass planted some trails, <br />ballfield constructed and lights installed. Check it out. <br />C. Commission Reports on Parks <br /> <br />Driftwood: Johnson. No report. <br />Freedom: Brunell. Drinking fountains are now working. There was a big <br />crowd at the ballfield in the evening. The pile of dirt that was outside the <br />hockey rink has been spread inside the hockey rink. <br />Hansen: Fields. Hansen Park was very busy. Lots of Disc golf people. <br />The tree along path was trimmed up. Everything else was looking good. <br />Hidden Oaks: Quade. The park looked fine. <br />Innsbruck: Axberg. Nothing to report at Innsbruck. <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. No Report. <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. No Report. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Vermont looked good. Found a blue <br />sweatshirt underneath the picnic table. It was placed on top the table.
