2 <br /> <br /> Continue to work on the budget for next year. Budget hearing is <br />December 5th. The City is working toward debt-free streets. Investment in <br />our community. By 2025 we will not have to borrow money to do our street <br />program. All the streets should be replaced in 25 years. <br /> The new license bureau opened November 1st. It is in the lower level. <br />You can get your license renewed there. <br /> Was present for the ribbon cutting for the Lions Park playground. Had <br />more than $150,000 donated to help build the all accessible playground at <br />Lions Park. <br /> Early voting is taking place at City Hall until the day before the election. <br />Then, on election day, voting takes place at your normal polling location. <br />Encourage everyone to get out and vote. <br />B. Chair Updates <br />Chair Fields encouraged everyone to get out and vote. <br />He was also present at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Lion’s Park. Had a great <br />turnout. Chris Wolla, his staff and all the volunteers did a fantastic job in putting it <br />all together. Very beneficial to the community. It is a beautiful park. <br />C. Commission Reports on Parks <br />Director Fink encouraged the Commissioners to e-mail Parks Superintendent <br />Wolla with any concerns. We want to be proactive. We talked about spotlighting <br />a certain park each month to talk about how the park is utilized and if there are <br />things the commissioners are hearing from the community and would like to bring <br />up or see changes in that park. We want to be proactive and address any <br />concerns right away. <br />Commissioner Fields stated he would like to get an idea of what the residents <br />near the park would like to see or have changed. <br />Director Fink stated we can leave the Report on Parks on the agenda, but please <br />feel free to e-mail us with your concerns. <br />Driftwood: Johnson. No report. <br />Freedom: Brunell. No report. <br />Hansen: Fields. Had about 120 people for the cycle cross event last <br />weekend. Some damage to sod. Director Fink stated this organization raised <br />money to provide motor bikes for their new and junior riders. <br />Hidden Oaks: Quade. Have had issues trying to get the correct picture of the <br />park on Google, but we are almost there. <br />Innsbruck: Axberg. No report <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. Fewer people, but the park looks good. <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. Silver Oaks soccer field used a bit more. <br />Totem Pole, the tennis court used more. Building seems to be used more <br />often. Eagle Scout who created the Totem Pole, tells people to Google Totem <br />Pole Park to see his Totem Pole. That works well for him. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Vermont doing good. R.R. ties are <br />rotting away and may need to be replaced. Sunny Square, having playground <br />pressure washed is night and day difference. The playground is scheduled to <br />be replaced in 2019. It is still in good shape. The water fountain was still on. <br />Veterans: No report. <br /> <br />D. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br />a. Eagles Nest Update (Grand Opening) <br />The grand opening event is Saturday, November 18th. 9am-Noon <br />Will have nerf wars in gym, have a performance by circus ??, activities by <br />girl scouts doing games and face painting. There is a ribbon cutting event
