A-8 Appendix A DRAFT
ID #Missing Links Comment (up votes, down votes)
1 Can't remember if there is one or not but... add a boat launch/exit dock. Encourage and inform about trips to Mississippi.
(0, 0)
2 Need pedestrian trail to go around Rush Lake and connect with LLP trail system. Leave it unpaved to serve hiking, XC,
biking, etc. (0, 0)
3 Long Lake Road splits the neighborhood because it is so difficult and unsafe to cross. (0, 0)
4 Any way to fit a pedestrian bridge to link neighborhoods West of Long Lake and LLP? (perhaps this is problematic and
would be objected to by residents but would afford much quicker access to park) (0, 1)
5 It is really hard to cross the road here with all the traffic coming off of 694. They are all looking left for traffic and not
for people crossing the road. Only at a run. (0, 0)
6 I would like to see a trail next to the railroad track through to 10th Street. I've know many young people to use the
tracks as a shortcut to the beach. This would be much safer. (1, 0)
7 Widen this bridge to create a recreational and wildlife corridor that links LLP to railroad corridor trails south of
694. (6, 1)
8 or something to make it safe for kids going to and from Highview; still won't let me child walk alone through here (0, 0)
9 Would be nice to have a pedestrian bridge here (1, 0)
10 When I first moved to NB I went in circles as I wasn't sure why the road didn't cross. I'm sure due to cost but if I am on
one side I don't bother to make the big U around to the other. (0, 0)
11 There's a great, unpaved loop around the pond/marsh here behind Salem Covenant. Convert this into a marked
trail. Need to build part of trail along Silver Lake Rd to be far enough in from traffic. (3, 0)
12 Could this rail bridge be repurposed for pedestrian traffic? Would serve as connection to the stranded part of NB east
of 35W and link all the way to Tony Schmidt reg'l park (if it could be extended) (0, 0)
13 Utilize rail corridors to connect parks w/in and w/out NB, a city with a rich railroad history; build some fun,
interesting historical touchpoints to add culture to trails (history scavenger hunt) (5, 1)
14 It's hard to cross Old Hwy 8 from the apartments on the East side to get to Totem Pole Park. There are 4 lanes of
40MPH traffic and no lights or even a median. (4, 0)
