MINUTES <br />New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br />Regular Meeting — November 1, 2017 <br />7:30 a.m. <br />Members/Liaisons Present: Chair Paul Zisla, Commissioners Bob Benke, Kevin Peck (arrived at 7:33 <br />a.m.), Mike Murlowski, Graeme Allen and Monica Garcia -Perez (arrived at 7:40 a.m.) <br />Members/Liaisons Absent: Commissioners Harry Carter, Emily Dunsworth, and Rachel Nelson. <br />Staff Present: Janice Gundlach- Assistant Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning <br />Director, Craig Schlichting-Community Assets & Development Director, and Councilmember Gina <br />Bauman <br />Also Present: <br />Call to Order <br />Chairperson Zisla called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Motion by Commissioner Benke, seconded by Commissioner Allen to approve the agenda as presented. <br />Approved 4-0 <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Motion by Commissioner Benke, seconded by Commissioner Allen to approve the minutes from the <br />October 4, 2017 meeting. <br />Approved 4-0 <br />Report from Council Liaison <br />There was no Council report. <br />Consider Extending Agreements with Ryan Companies & Colliers International for <br />Redevelopment and Brokerage Services in New Brighton Exchange <br />a. Third Amendment to Listing Agreement <br />b. Second Amendment to Redevelopment Services Agreement <br />Gundlach reported the City has agreements with Ryan Companies and Colliers International (or Welsh <br />Companies) for redevelopment and brokerage services respectively. These agreements were enacted in <br />2011 and provide the terms under which Ryan Companies and Colliers International provide services to <br />the City on development in the New Brighton Exchange. These agreements are both slated to expire at <br />the end of this year. Being Block B remains undeveloped, the City, Ryan Companies, and Colliers have <br />agreed to extend the agreements two additional years. The extensions should allow adequate time to <br />realize development of Block B on the east side of Old Highway 8 NW in New Brighton Exchange. <br />Development of Block B is largely dependent on a future user's willingness to be on a dump and the <br />MPCA's acceptance of a clean-up plan. These details can be discussed at a future Commission meeting. <br />Staff commented further on the dates of the previous agreements and recommended the Commission <br />discuss the proposed extensions and provide a recommendation to Council on whether or not to extend <br />
