Chair Zisla believed it would be important for City staff to reach out to local business owners given the
number of areas that were being considered for redevelopment in the future. Gundlach clarified the
areas proposed could be reinvestment or redevelopment and proposed giving a presentation at an
upcoming Chamber of Commerce meeting.
Commissioner Carter suggested this same presentation be made to the Rotary Club.
Chair Zisla questioned what the Commission would be addressing in November and December.
Gundlach recommended the Commission address the 2018 work plan, Block B within NBE or possibly
the Korean Church redevelopment project in November.
Further discussion ensued regarding the City's purchase of the Korean Church. Gundlach noted City
staff had created an FAQ on the website in order to address common questions regarding this topic.
Councilmember Bauman clarified the City had been interested in this property for some time and was
not simply trying out outbid another potential buyer. Rather, the City was trying to aid in the
redevelopment of this property.
Adiourn
Chair Zisla adjourned the meeting at 8:25 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Janice Gundlach
Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development/Director of Planning
