cily of <br />0; NEW <br />BRUHTON <br />the city that works for you <br />MINUTES <br />2018 CITY COUNCIL / STAFF <br />GOAL SETTING RETREAT <br />January 6, 2018 9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m. <br />The Exchange Food and Drink <br />500 5" Ave NW; New Brighton, MN 55112 <br />The retreat began by unanimous consent at 9:00 a.m. <br />Attendees included Mayor Val Johnson, Councilmembers: Emily Dunsworth, Mary Burg, Paul Jacobsen <br />and Graeme Allen. <br />Staff present were: Dean Lotter, City Manager; Jennifer Fink, Parks Director; Tony Paetznick, Public <br />Safety Director; Brenda Davitt, Finance Director, Craig Schlichting, DCAD Director (Engineering, CD, <br />PW); Jason Hicks, Assistant Parks Director; Gina Smith, Assistant Finance Director; Trevor Hamdorf, <br />Deputy Director Public Safety; Janice Gundlach, Assistant DCAD; Dan Olson, Deputy Director of Public <br />Safety; Devin Massopust t, Assistant City Manager. Barbara Strandell was the facilitator. <br />Topics of discussion included: <br />• What officials were most proud of in terms of legacy <br />• The utilization of City Council Worksessions <br />• Accomplishments in 2017 <br />■ Future goals for calendar years 2019 — 2025 <br />• Priorities for calendar years 2018 — 2020 <br />• The best things about New Brighton <br />• Citizen feedback about the Comprehensive Plan Update <br />• Areas of disconnect <br />• Potential uses for the Korean church site <br />• Re -branding / logo update <br />It was noted that a complete report of the retreat will be generated and submitted by the retreat <br />facilitator, Barb Strandell. <br />The retreat was adjourned by unanimous consent at 3:00 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Terri Spangrud <br />City Clerk <br />
