He reported the group would continue to meet through 2018 and would be <br />drafting a report for the City Council which would be completed by December 18 th. <br /> <br />Discussion included: <br /> Transportation and mobility concerns were discussed. <br /> The long-term outlook of the task force was described. <br /> It was noted the need to better represent the minority communities would be <br />addressed by the Task Force in October. <br /> The group commented on the diverse transportation needs along Silver Lake Road. <br /> <br />B. Update on Parks Comprehensive Plan – Director Fink <br /> <br />Director Fink explained staff was planning to pursue a long-term strategic plan in 2019. <br />However, she was happy to report an alternate funding source has been secured which <br />meant staff could begin working on this plan in 2018. She reported staff was pleased to be <br />moving forward with the long-term strategic Parks Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Johnson, seconded by Santi to recommend staff move forward with the long- <br />term strategic Parks Comprehensive Plan. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />VI. Announcements <br /> <br />A. Council Report – Council Member Paul Jacobsen <br /> <br />Council Member Jacobsen commented he was excited to see staff would be moving forward <br />with a Comprehensive Park Plan. He anticipated this would assist the City i n upgrading and <br />enhancing its park system. He thanked all residents that participated in National Night Out <br />and Stockyard Days. He commented both of these events were very well attended <br />community events. He reported the Council was in the process of reviewing the preliminary <br />2019 budget and tax levy. He discussed the new dental clinic that would be coming to New <br />Brighton. <br /> <br />B. PREC Chair Updates – Kevin Fields <br /> <br />Chair Fields commented on the Hansen Park project and thanked staff for drafting a letter <br />for the public. Councilmember Jacobsen reported the trails were now paved at Hansen Park <br />and noted Rice Creek Watershed would be done with their work in November. He <br />commented on the positive impacts this project has had on the wildlife. Director Fink <br />clarified for the record that Hansen Park was not going away. <br /> <br />C. Department Happenings and Upcoming Events – City Staff <br /> <br />Director Fink stated the new billboard was being installed at the Community Center. She <br />noted a lease has been entered into with Clear Channel Outdoor. She commented on how <br />lease revenues would benefit the City. She discussed the field transition that would occur <br />throughout the City this fall. She reported Ed-Ventures Daycare wrapped up another <br />successful year. She stated she was excited to see how this program would grow over the
