RESOLUTION NO. <br />18- <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON TO SUPPORT MINNESOTA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CORRIDORS OF COMMERCE PROJECTS <br />LOCATED IN NEW BRIGHTON <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation wishes to cooperate closely with local <br />units of government to coordinate the delivery of transportation services and maximize the efficient <br />delivery of such services at all levels of government; and <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation has identified a list of regionally <br />submitted projects for the Corridors of Commerce program; and <br />WHEREAS, The Minnesota Department of Transportation will award $400 million to selected <br />projects across the State; and <br />WHEREAS, New Brighton would be impacted by one or more of these projects; and <br />WHEREAS, if all cities and counties touching these suggested project areas provide their support <br />we can receive “Community Consensus” status which would award more points to those projects; and <br />WHEREAS, without these points a project would be at a distinct disadvantage in scoring. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New Brighton, <br />Minnesota hereby issues New Brighton’s support of the following: <br />1.The addition of a flyover ramp from northbound I-35W to westbound I-694. <br />2.The addition of an “exit only” lane for merging traffic on I-35W north of 694. <br />ADOPTED this 13th day of March, 2018, by the New Brighton City Council with a vote of _____ ayes and <br />_____ nays. <br /> Valerie Johnson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: Dean R.
