<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR <br />CITY PROJECT 17-13, LIONS PARK STORMWATER RE-USE AND AUTHORIZATION <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets and <br />Development <br />CITY MANAGER APPROVAL: <br /> <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report _______ Comments attached ______ <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Adopt the attached Resolution rejecting all bids for City Project 17-13, Lions Park Stormwater Re-use. <br />2. To authorize staff to advertise for bids for City Project 17-13, Lions Park Stormwater Re-use. <br /> <br />Legislative History: On February 23, 2016, the City Council authorized the Director of Community Assets and <br />Development to enter into the Professional Services Agreement between the City of New Brighton and Anderson- <br />Johnson Associates, Inc. (AJA) for Final Design Services concerning North Park. <br /> <br />On April 26, 2016, the City Council authorized the application for a 2016 Metropolitan Council Stormwater Reuse <br />Grant, knowing the City would provide 25% of the funds for the project and the Metropolitan Council would provide <br />75% of the funds for the project. We were not selected. <br /> <br />On March 28, 2017, the City Council authorized the application for a 2017 Metropolitan Council Stormwater Reuse <br />Grant, knowing the City would provide 25% of the funds for the project and the Metropolitan Council would provide <br />75% of the funds for the project. <br /> <br />On May 26, 2017, the City was notified the Metropolitan Council awarded a $150,000 Stormwater Reuse Grant to <br />the Rice Creek Watershed District for the design and construction of a stormwater reuse system at New Brighton <br />Lions Park. <br /> <br />On July 26, 2017, the Rice Creek Watershed District Board of Managers met at the Shoreview City Hall Council <br />Chambers to consider and approve the Metropolitan Council grant agreement and MOA with the City of New <br />Brighton for the Stormwater Reuse Grant at New Brighton Lions Park. <br /> <br />On August 2, 2017, staff attended the Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission (PREC) to discuss and <br />review the Stormwater Grant and the status of the Lions Park project. <br /> <br />On August 8, 2017, the City Council Approved the Stormwater Grant and Memorandum of Agreement. <br /> <br />On February 28, 2018, the Rice Creek Watershed District Board approved $47,500 in funding to implement the <br />Lions Park Stormwater Reuse Project. <br /> <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />REPORT DATE: May 14, 2018 <br />MEETING DATE: May 22, 2018
