She discussed a program she was working on with NYFS to partner youth with <br />seniors. She explained the Planning Commission would be meeting next on Tuesday, May <br />15th. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen offered his thanks to City Manager Lotter for his strong leadership <br />and for the presentation he made at the Town Hall meeting. He thanked the City Council for <br />working together in a professional manner for the betterment of the community. He noted the <br />PREC met last week and received their orientation from staff. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth thanked all of the residents that attended the Open House last <br />Saturday. She believed this event was very well done and she was very impressed by staff’s <br />efforts. She noted she would be attending the Public Safety meeting on Monday, May 14th. <br />She explained Saturday, May 12th was the Ramsey County Warrant Resolution Day at the High <br />School for the Performing Arts in St. Paul from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. She encouraged <br />residents to only burn clean wood within their bonfires. She reported the Farmer’s Market <br />would be open again on Wednesday, June 20th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the United <br />Theological Seminary parking lot. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC met on Wednesday, May 2nd where the group <br />received an orientation and reviewed nine concept proposals for the Korean Church. He noted <br />the EDC would be holding a Special Meeting on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:30 a.m. He stated <br />New Brighton Cleanup Day would be held on Saturday, May 19th from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br />He thanked City Manager Lotter for his kind works and commended the City Council for <br />having a positive working relationship. He thanked CTV for recording and being present at the <br />Open House. He discussed the multi-jurisdictional law enforcement and fire training that <br />would occur at the Korean Church on May 21-23. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked all of the residents that attended the recent Open House. She <br />explained the United Theological Seminary would be moving and had a buyer. She noted the <br />Planning Commission would be discussing this matter on Tuesday, May 15th and the City <br />Council would be addressing the matter on Tuesday, May 22nd. She welcomed the public to <br />attend the Special EDC meeting on Wednesday, May 23rd where proposals for the Korean <br />Church will be discussed. She reported the Inclusive Community Task Force would be <br />meeting next on Monday, May 21st. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson stated she was pleased to report the gravity rail would be installed this week <br />within Lions Park. She commented on the great work being done by NYFS and discussed the <br />recent suicide that occurred at Mounds View High School. She encouraged the Council to visit <br />the New Brighton Historical Society’s Facebook page to view their most recent presentation on <br />TCAAP and for residents to become members of the Historical Society. Mayor Johnson <br />commented Mother’s Day was Sunday, May 13th.
