<br /> <br />Mr. Matteson reviewed Allina’s organizational structure and explained the work each <br />individual did for the company. He commented on the call volumes and response times for <br />the entire service area through June of 2018. EMS protocols and response call metrics were <br />described with the Commission. He noted the awards Allina has received in recent years. <br /> <br />Discussion included: <br /> <br /> The new software system being utilized by Allina. <br /> The licensure process for Allina was discussed at length along with Allina’s staffing <br />model for the service area. <br /> The reimbursement rates for ambulances was reviewed. <br /> The circumstances and use of Ketamine was discussed. <br /> The Commission thanked Mr. Matteson for this informative presentation and for <br />continuing to build strong relationships in the community. <br /> <br />VI. Reports and Updates <br /> <br />A. Allina Health – Dave Matteson <br /> <br />Dave Mattson had nothing additional to report. <br /> <br />B. Public Safety Update – Director Paetznick <br /> <br />Director Paetznick encouraged the Commission members to review the most recent copy of <br />the City’s newsletter. He commented there were several articles that focused on the Public <br />Safety Department. He reported Officer Anthony Semanko would be sworn in at the Council <br />meeting on Tuesday, July 11th. He explained he had the pleasure of attending the Inclusive <br />Community Task Force meeting in June where he shared the efforts Public Safety has been <br />taking to engage with New Brighton residents. He stated staff was working on the 2019 <br />budget and significant asks would be for additional officers and hours. He noted the <br />firefighters were gearing up for a local burn on Monday, July 16th. He commented on a <br />recent tour he had of the City’s new water treatment plant. He provided the Commission <br />with an update on the body worn cameras and noted the City has increased its IT staff <br />members. He stated he would be revisiting the issue of bod y worn cameras now with the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />C. City Council Update – Emily Dunsworth, Councilmember <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated the City Council was working on a new City logo. She <br />encouraged the Commission members to provide the City with feedback on the City’s <br />website or Facebook. She explained the City would also be taking recommendations for a <br />logo tagline. She noted the new logo would be revealed at Stockyard Days. Further <br />discussion ensued regarding the new billboard that would be located at the Community <br />Center. <br /> <br />VII. Business Items <br /> <br />None. <br />
