<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEW <br />BRIGHTON AND RAMSEY COUNTY FOR CITY PROJECT 18‐13, RAILROAD CROSSING AT SILVER LAKE <br />ROAD <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets and Development <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendation: Authorize the Mayor and New Brighton City Manager to sign/enter into a <br />Cooperative Agreement with Ramsey County for ROW acquisition for City Project 18‐13, Railroad <br />Crossing at Silver Lake Road, subject to the review by the attorneys for Ramsey County and the City. <br /> <br />Legislative History: NA <br /> <br />Financial Impact: The City and County will split costs related to ROW acquisition, estimated to be <br />$25,146 for each party. <br /> <br />Explanation: Ramsey County submitted an application (with cooperation from New Brighton) for a <br />Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP). The project scope includes pedestrian improvements on <br />Silver Lake Road at the Rice Creek Regional Trail. Pedestrian curb ramps, railroad gates, and a refuge <br />median are the main installation features used to improve pedestrian safety. This project is planned <br />for 2019 construction by Ramsey County, which is one year ahead of schedule <br /> <br />Costs and Funding: The project will be funded with Municipal State Aid (MSA) Funds (ROW costs are <br />MSA eligible expenses). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________________________ <br />Craig G.
