11 <br /> <br /> <br />On Tuesday, January 30, Public Safety held a “Coffee with a Cop” event at the south <br />McDonald’s with several police officers and firefighters in attendance. The restaurant <br />owners also presented the department with a check for $300 to further fund community <br />engagement activities in New Brighton. Community Engagement Officer Brad <br />Krebsbach coordinated the event and he even served customers in the drive thru! <br />McDonald’s corporate public relations representatives were also present to film and <br />interview staff and customers about this positive police-community engagement program <br />to promote the effort within all of their restaurants. <br /> <br />On Thursday, January 18, the Public Safety Center hosted 13 students from the U of M <br />Public Safety Leadership class. A panel of Police Chiefs/Directors of Public Safety from <br />Woodbury, Centennial Lakes, Lakes Area, and New Brighton shared their experiences <br />and perspectives about merged departments and public safety service delivery models. <br /> <br />On Friday afternoon, January 19, Director Paetznick was invited to present about safety <br />information for a group of Girl Scouts at Bel Air Elementary School. They discussed use <br />of the 911 system and injury prevention, along with basic first aid skills. <br /> <br />Members of the Fire Division assisted local scouts with collecting food shelf donations <br />on Saturday, January 27, as part of the Community Bonfire event. <br /> <br /> <br />
