8 <br /> <br />Industry <br /> <br />New Brighton’s largest manufacturing industries include Hypro/ <br />Pentair Corporation, Donatelle Plastics and Mission Foods. Other <br />major employers include: APi, CSI, Medtox laboratory, Extendicare <br />Homes for the Elderly, Cub Foods, Micom Corporation, Print Craft, <br />Trend Enterprises and General Office Products. Some retail and ser- <br />vice businesses in New Brighton are located at Rice Creek Center, <br />Brighton Village and Main Street Village. <br /> <br />Education <br /> <br />The City of New Brighton enjoys positive relationships with the two Independent School Districts that serve families in <br />the City. The St. Anthony-New Brighton School District, District #282, is located in St. Anthony and has an enrollment <br />of approximately 1,700 students. While being one of the smallest geographic school districts in the state, the high school <br />has repeatedly been recognized by the State of Minnesota, Newsweek magazine, and US News and World Report. St. <br />Anthony Village High School students score very well on standardized assessments and college entrance exams. <br />Mounds View School District, District # 621 located in Shoreview, serves approximately 11,000 students. ISD 621 con- <br />tinues to be one of the top ten highest performing districts in the state. Mounds View School District prides itself on its <br />innovative programs, cutting-edge classes, activities, clubs, and college credit earning opportunities. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />The City maintains 17 neighborhood parks, urban forest and open spaces (including the newly developed and accessible <br />playground at Lion’s Park) totaling 215 acres. These parks and open spaces offer an abundance of quality health and rec- <br />reational opportunities such as disc golf, a skate park, playgrounds, outdoor skating rinks and a sledding hill. The New <br />Brighton Community Center offers cultural, educational and wellness programs to nearly a half million visitors of all <br />ages each year. The Community Center includes the newly rebuilt Eagles Nest indoor playground, senior programming, a <br />full size gym, indoor track and fitness center, meeting rooms and banquet facilities and is home to the City’s Parks and <br />Recreation Department offices. Residents and visitors alike can also visit the New Brighton Branch of the Ramsey Coun- <br />ty Library while at the Community Center. Long Lake Regional Park is a regional gem that draws people from all over <br />the state and is owned and operated by Ramsey <br />County Parks and Recreation. It provides miles <br />of hiking trails, a swimming beach, picnic pavil- <br />ions and 217 acres of open space. New Brighton <br />is also home to Brightwood Hills Golf Course, a <br />31-acre nine-hole executive course known for its <br />youth programming and league nights. <br /> <br />The City is home to many gathering spaces for <br />families, businesses, weddings and non-profits. <br />The Community Center has meeting rooms, and <br />Hansen, Totem Pole, Sunny Square and Freedom <br />Parks are New Brighton parks that include <br />Neighborhood Centers, perfect for meetings or <br />parties. The clubhouse at Brightwood Hills also <br />provides a beautiful backdrop in the off-season <br />for event rentals. <br />Main Street Village <br />New Brighton Community Center
