11 <br /> <br />On Friday, June 29th with the temperatures in access of 100 degrees, the Police Division <br />commenced operation bomb pop. Several officers went throughout the city and delivered <br />popsicles to citizens who were out in the heat. 180 popsicles were distributed! <br /> <br /> <br />VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> <br /> This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City of <br />New Brighton. <br /> <br />There were no bias crimes to report for this month. <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br />This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to Public <br />Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police Reserves, <br />Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br /> <br />For the month of July, the Reserve unit assisted with scene control for the live burn <br />training for the fire department and assisted with the Cops and Bobbers kids fishing day. <br /> <br />The Reserve unit also conducted two monthly trainings. One was a scenario based <br />training and the other was prepping for Stockyard Days. <br /> <br />All total the Reserve unit volunteered 240.5 hours for the month of July. <br /> <br />Three members of the Explorer unit assisted Blaine PD with the 3m Golf Tournament.
