Fernelius added <br />that screening would also be considered. <br /> <br />Zisla inquired if it was possible to change the staff recommendation to rezone only the <br />properties on Old Hwy 8. Gundlach replied that the resolution could be revised to <br />include not rezoning the properties on Fourth Ave and she will provide background <br />information for the City Council as to why the Commission is recommending not <br />rezoning those properties. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Zisla, Second by Schiferl to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE ATTACHED <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL of RZ2006-001, RZ2006-002, and a <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment for 715 & 721 Old Highway 8 NW, subject to the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. The Comprehensive Plan Amendment is approved by the Metropolitan <br />Council. <br />2. A General Development Plan is hereby established for both properties <br />consistent with the following uses: <br />a. 715 Old Highway 8 NW: Site to be developed in accordance with <br />attached Exhibit A, subject to modifications that arise out of the Site Plan <br />review and approval process by the Planning Commission at their August <br />15, 2006 meeting and final Site Plan review and approval by the City <br />Council at their August 22, 2006 meeting. <br />b. 721 Old Highway 8 NW: Site to be developed in accordance with B-2, <br />Neighborhood Business standards, unless the General Development Plan <br />is amended in accordance with the B-4, Downtown Business standards. <br />3. The City Council considers the Rezoning and Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment requests in conjunction with the final Site Plan recommendation <br />of the Planning Commission for 715 Old Highway 8 NW, which is to be <br />considered on August 15, 2006. <br /> <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br /> <br /> Informational Items <br /> <br />Gundlach reported that the City Attorney and the Director of Public Works are working <br />together on the directional signage issue. The ordinance may be placed in the City Code, <br />which means that the Commission may not see this come back before them. When a <br />decision is made she will inform the Commission. <br />
