Director of Community Assets & Development/Planning Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Item VII_A RE Mounds View School’s Request for a Special Use Permit <br /> <br />Staff is requesting the Commission table action on this matter to the May 15, 2018 Planning Commission <br />meeting, without further discussion. After Mounds View Schools submitted their Special Use Permit <br />application and supporting documents, and after staff mailed notice to the neighbors inviting them to a <br />public hearing, it was found that a parking lot setback in the western side yard was less than required by <br />code. After informing the applicant, they have chosen to delay their request in order to make application <br />for a Variance for the reduced setback, rather than amend the plans to meet the setback and proceed this <br />month. <br /> <br />Because notification of the public hearing was mailed to property owners within 350’ of the subject <br />property, the item must remain on the agenda. The item should be introduced with an announcement of <br />the delay. The Commission should then move a Table action. New public hearing notices will be <br />published in the local paper and send to the neighbors informing them of the added Variance. The next <br />meeting where this item will be heard will be May 15, 2018. Attached is the extension letter sent to the <br />applicant. <br /> <br /> <br />
