March 27, 2018 Page 1 of 8 <br />Is . <br />of <br />)NEW COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />MCA Trm <br />the city that works for you THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday <br />March 27, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the New Brighton Council Chambers. <br />Present: Mayor Johnson, Councilmembers Allen, Burg, and Jacobsen <br />Absent: Councilmember Dunsworth <br />Also Present: Dean Lotter -City Manager, Sarah Sonsalla-City Attorney, Brenda Davitt-Finance <br />Director <br />Call to Order Call to Order <br />Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. <br />Pledge of_Allegance <br />Mayor Johnson led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Public Comment Forum <br />Mayor Johnson opened the Public Forum for comments from the public. <br />Andra Storla, 1284 Long Lake Road, thanked the Council for their time. She explained she <br />purchased her home 20 years ago and has enjoyed being a resident of New Brighton ever since. <br />She reported she spoke at the last two Planning Commission regarding the negative impact her <br />neighbors proposed garage would have on her home. She indicated her neighbor does not live <br />on this property, but rather rents it out. She noted her neighbor's property already had two <br />garages and she did not understand why such a large garage was being proposed. She <br />explained she already had water issues in her backyard and she feared the new garage would <br />create additional concerns. She asked if a drainage easement was required for the new garage <br />or if some other permit was required. She noted the garage was being built in the 100 -year <br />floodplain, which was another concern for her with how the water runoff would be managed by <br />her neighbor. <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Approval of the March 27, 2018 Council Agenda. <br />Motion by Councilmember Allen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen requested Item 3 be removed from the Consent Agenda for <br />discussion under New Business. <br />Amendment motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to <br />remove Item 3 from the Consent Agenda for discussion under New Business. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Amendment Carried <br />Pled a of Alle lance <br />Public Comment <br />Forum <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Approval of the <br />March 27, 2018 <br />Agenda. <br />
