June 12, 2018 Page 5 of 5 <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported he attended Emergency Management Training presented by Joe <br />Kelly with City Manager Lotter and Public Safety Director Paetznick. <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended the North Suburban Cable Commission <br />meeting on Thursday, June 7th. She explained a new executive director was hired at this <br />meeting and would be starting in July. She stated she attended the Public Safety Commission <br />meeting on June 1 Ith noting this group receives an update on MNLARS. She commented on <br />Wednesday, June 20th a Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at the Public Safety Department. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC met on Wednesday, June 6th and received an update <br />from the Mounds View School District. He was happy to report the gravity rail was installed <br />and operational at Lions Park along with the lion fountain. He noted he would be attending the <br />League of Minnesota Cities Conference on June 20-22 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He <br />encouraged the public to visit the New Brighton Farmer's Market on Wednesdays at the United <br />Theological Seminary beginning Wednesday, June 20th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. <br />Mary Bur <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on Tuesday, June <br />19th. She reminded the public that l0%p of the daily proceeds on the third Tuesday of each <br />month are donated to the Community Center Scholarship Fund by the Dairy Queen off of Old <br />Highway 8. <br />Mayor .lohnson <br />Mayor Johnson congratulated all of the 2018 graduates from Mounds View, St. Anthony and <br />Irondale. She discussed the tour the Council took of the new water treatment plant. She <br />thanked staff for arranging this tour. She explained the Inclusive Community Task Force <br />would be meeting on Monday, June 18th noting the group would be discussing the City's <br />policies for immigrants. Further discussion ensued regarding Lexipol. She updated the public <br />on the New Brighton Elementary School and reported a tour was being planned of this facility <br />prior to demolishing this building. She commended Gina Smith and City Manager Lotter for <br />all of their efforts on the New Brighton License Bureau.
