Consideration of Resolution Adopting the Proposed Tax Levy for Taxes Payable <br />2019 and Setting the Meeting Dates for the 2019 Budget Discussion with Public <br />Comment and the Determination of the Final 2019 Tax Levies. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Dunsworth to adopt a Resolution <br />approving the proposed preliminary tax levy for taxes payable in 2019 and setting the meeting <br />date for the 2019 budget discussion with public comment and the determination of the final <br />2019 tax levies. <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Finance Director Davitt would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Finance Director Davitt reviewed the City's purposes, objectives and future directives for creating a budget. <br />She explained the proposed 2019 Budget includes a proposed total citywide tax levy of $9,513,110 <br />for taxes payable in 2019. The proposed 2019 tax levy is an increase of $851,940. The property tax <br />impact on residents will vary depending on the property's value and change in value relative to <br />other properties in the city.
