HEAD'S APPROVAL: <br /> <br />MANAGER'S REVIEWIRECOMMENDA TION: <br /> <br />No comments to supplement this report <br /> <br />Comments attached <br /> <br />EXPLANATION: <br /> <br />Pursuant to Municipal Code requirements, the Council annually considers appointments to its various <br />advisory commissions. The Council met in a work session to review applications for membership on the <br />City advisory commissions. Applications were received following ads placed in the local newspaper and <br />letters sent to current commission members whose terms expired January 31,2006. Eight applications <br />were received and 10 of 13 Commissioners whose terms expired reapplied for positions. A member of <br />the City Council is represented and acts as a liaison to each advisory group. Attached is a resolution <br />indicating the commissions where appointments are necessary and the appointments of resident <br />volunteers and council representatives to serve during 2006 and beyond, subject to normal term <br />provisions. <br /> <br />. appropriate resolution will be distributed at the City Council meeting making the Commission <br />appointments. <br /> <br />Pursuant to State law, the City Council is also responsible for the appointment of the Chair of the <br />Planning Commission.
