<br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Special Proclamation naming Jodelle Olson as a City Ambassador upon her <br />retirement <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: Jennifer Fink, Director of Park and Recreation <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: Dean Lotter <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Ask Mayor Johnson on behalf of the City Council to name Jodelle Olson, Office Assistant, to name her <br />as a City Ambassador upon her retirement after 41 years of service to the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />Legislative History: <br />None <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br /> <br />Explanation: <br />Jodelle Olson began her career in Parks and Recreation on May 16, 1977. She has been an Office <br />Assistant to the not only the department but to all four Parks and Recreation Directors the City has <br />ever known. She has seen the building of the Family Service Center, now the Community Center. She <br />has seen the introduction of computers, online registration, cell phones and more. The staff has been <br />able to rely upon her cheerful nature, institutional knowledge and constant loyalty to the City and the <br />department. <br /> <br />Per the City Employee Handbook, Section 33.3, employees who retire with 20+ years of service are to <br />names as a City Ambassador by the City Council.
