February 12, 2019 Page 3 of 5 <br />She described the role of the Planning Commission and listed the members currently serving on the <br />Commission. She stated the Commission would have several vacancies this year. She reported the Planning <br />Commission meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. and acted as an advisory board to the City <br />Council. She reviewed the items the Commission addressed in 2018 and discussed the development project <br />highlights. She commented on the anticipated 2019 issues. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for her strong leadership on the Planning Commission. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated she was very impressed by the hard, in depth questions the Planning <br />Commission was asking of staff. She thanked the Planning Commissioners for doing a great job on behalf of <br />the City. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the Planning Commission for doing the tough work and heavy lifting on <br />behalf of the City Council. <br />Mayor Johnson thanked Chair Nichols-Matkaiti for her great leadership and a job well done with the <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br />4. Annual Report from Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission Chair Kevin Fields. <br /> <br />Chair Kevin Fields provided the Council with the annual report from the PREC. He thanked Director Fink <br />for all of her efforts and discussed the issues that were addressed by PREC in 2018. He reviewed the items <br />the group would be addressing in 2019 and thanked the Council for their continued support. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked PREC for the great work they do on behalf of the community and thanked <br />Chair Fields for his great leadership with this group. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Chair Fields for his service to the City and for being a great member of the <br />community. She stated she was looking forward to learning more from PREC after the Strategic Park Plan <br />was complete. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth stated she believed PREC had an exciting year ahead of them and she looked <br />forward to following this group in 2019. <br />Mayor Johnson agreed and thanked Chair Fields for his great leadership and service to the community. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1. Consider Resolution Appointing Members of the Comprehensive Parks System <br />Plan Steering Committee. <br /> <br />5. Consider Approval of 2019 City of New Brighton Legislative Priorities Document. <br /> <br />6. Consider Authorization to Purchase Two Ford F-150 Trucks for Parks <br />Maintenance. <br /> <br />7.
