<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Council Worksession <br />February 12, 2019 <br />5:00 pm <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Valerie Johnson <br /> Councilmember Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Mary Burg <br /> Councilmember Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Staff in Attendance: Dean Lotter, Devin Massopust <br /> <br />Guests in Attendance: Dana Healy, Jared Weidmeyer <br /> <br />Update from Dana Healy, Executive Director of CTV North Suburbs <br />Massopust explained Dana Healy was present to discuss the services CTV was transitioning into. <br /> <br />Dana Healy, CTV, thanked the Council for their time. She provided an overview on the services CTV <br />provided to the City of New Brighton. She commented on the mission and vision reorganization that occurred <br />within her organization stating their mission now was to produce community focused digital media for the <br />purpose of educating and engaging the its citizens. She explained public access has been eliminated. <br /> <br />Jared Weidmeyer, CTV, discussed the City meeting production services that were provided by CTV. He <br />commented on the HD equipment improvements that occurred in the New Brighton Council Chambers and <br />conference room. He reported CTV would be tracking viewership of the City’s meetings. He commented on <br />the content CTV would be creating through quarterly updates or neighborhood news. He played two short <br />videos from recent quarterly updates that were produced for the City of St. Anthony regarding organics <br />recycling and the other clip was from the Daddy Daughter Dance in Mounds View. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg requested CTV provide the Council with this analytic data. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth asked how the quarterly videos would be marketed to the public. Ms. Healy <br />reported these messages would be posted on the City’s website and on social media sites. <br /> <br />Councilmember Allen questioned how much a Town Hall meeting would cost the City to have covered by <br />CTV. Mr. Weidmeyer stated he was uncertain of the expense. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg stated she would be interested in having further information on these costs because the <br />City has been having this event covered by CTV for years. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth commented it would benefit New Brighton to have a calendar with CTV in order <br />to coordinate upcoming events. Ms. Healy stated she appreciated this suggestion. <br /> <br />Ms. Healy described how the cable market was changing and noted she was working to find new and <br />innovative ways to provide information to the public.
