June 25, 2019 Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the Stockyard Days parade had moved from Thursday to <br />Saturday, August 3rd. He discussed the support the City offers to Stockyard Days on a yearly <br />basis. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported PREC would not be meeting in July. She explained this group <br />would meet next on Wednesday, August 7th. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission would not be meeting in <br />July. He noted this group would meet next on Monday, August 12th. He stated he would be <br />attending the League of Minnesota Cities Conference in Duluth this week. He explained the <br />Fire Department was in the middle of the Fill the Boot campaign. He encouraged residents to <br />assist with this event which would be held Tuesday, June 25th through Thursday, June 27th. He <br />wished all residents a happy and safe 4th of July. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC did not meet in June. He explained the EDC would <br />meet next on Wednesday, July 3rd at 7:30 a.m. He indicated the Brightwood Hills Golf Course <br />would be celebrating 50 years on Sunday, June 30th. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the Global Academy received a grant for their playground. She <br />explained over 200 volunteers would be assisting with the playground installation on <br />Thursday, June 27th. She thanked City staff for carrying the Special Olympics torch through <br />New Brighton last week.
