<br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Approve Resolution Initiating partial Right of Way Vacations of 7th Street NW <br />and 7th Avenue NW as part of the Midtown Village Development <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD’S APPROVAL: <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />15.99 Deadline: n/a <br /> <br />Recommendations: Both Staff and the Planning Commission recommend these vacations to <br />clean up long-standing right of way issues on 7th Avenue, as well as <br />vacating the portion of 7th Street directly north of the Midtown Village <br />development. <br /> <br />Legislative History: Midtown Village Preliminary PRD approved on May 28, 2019. New <br />development calls for the proposed vacations. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: None <br /> <br />Summary: The recent approval of the Midtown Village Preliminary PRD calls for vacation <br />of the noted rights-of-ways. <br /> 7th Street NW will be replaced with greenspace and new driveways for <br />the existing residents, and will be lined with lilac bushes along the <br />northern border of Midtown Village. <br /> The vacations on 7th Avenue NW will include the unused portions of <br />the 1930’s era cul-de-sac bulb which are causing title issues for <br />impacted residents. <br /> <br />Attachments: A) Resolution initiating the vacation process <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />Ben Gozola, AICP <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development <br />Agenda Section: VII <br />Item: 3 <br />Report Date: 7/17/19 <br /> Council Meeting Date: 7/23/19
