Paetznick, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br /> <br />Recommendation: Direct City Clerk Terri Spangrud to conduct the Oath of Office for Police Officer <br />John Thomas. <br /> <br />Legislative History: Public Safety has a tradition of performing the Police Officer Oath of Office <br />Ceremony during City Council meetings. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: n/a <br /> <br />Explanation: Police Officer John Thomas is receiving his Oath of Office for the City of New <br />Brighton. The Oath of Office includes the affirmatio n that as a Police Officer <br />they will “swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States of <br />America and the State of MN and faithfully discharge the duties of Police <br />Officer.” <br /> <br />In early July, he successfully completed his fourteen-week Field Training Officer <br />(FTO) program and is performing solo patrol duties.
