Page 1 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 867 <br />AN ORDINANCE UPDATING CODE LANGUAGE ON ZONING <br />ENFORCEMENT AND OTHER ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES RELATING <br />TO THE CITY’S MOST COMMON COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES <br /> <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of New Brighton hereby amends City Code, Chapter 17 <br />Nuisances, Section 17-2, Health Nuisances, as follows: <br />The introductory paragraph and subsections (1) through (8) are restated and incorporated <br />herein unchanged. <br />(9) Structure Unfit for Human Occupancy. A structure or building is unfit for human <br />occupancy when one of the following conditions exists: <br />a) It is structurally unsafe, not provided with adequate egress, is a fire hazard, or is <br />otherwise dangerous to human life. <br />b) Service equipment for the building poses a fire, electrical, or health hazard; <br />presents an unsanitary condition; or is otherwise dangerous to human life. <br />c) Use of the building, structure, or building service equipment constitutes a hazard <br />to safety, health, or public welfare by reason of inadequate maintenance, <br />dilapidation, obsolescence, fire hazard, disaster, damage, or abandonment. <br />d) Parapet walls, cornices, spires, towers, tanks, statuary, or other appendages or <br />structural members that are supported by, attached to, or are a part of a building <br />and are in deteriorated condition or otherwise unable to sustain the design loads <br />that are specified in the code. <br />(9) (10) Other Acts. All other acts, omissions of acts, occupations, and uses of property <br />which are deemed by the Health Officer to be a menace to the health of the inhabitants of <br />the City or a considerable number thereof.
