September 24, 2019 Page 2 of 5 <br /> Planning Commission Minutes from August 20, 2019. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />1. Oath of Office for Police Officer John Thomas <br /> <br />Public Safety Director Paetznick introduced newly hired Police Officer John Thomas to the City Council. He <br />thanked the Council for committing to and supporting the hiring of a 30th Police Officer. <br />City Clerk Spangrud administered the Oath of Office for Police Officer Thomas and welcomed him to the <br />New Brighton Public Safety Department. A round of applause was offered by all in attendance. <br />Mayor Johnson welcomed Officer Thomas to the City of New Brighton and stated the City Council was very <br />supportive of its officers. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen discussed the great reputation the New Brighton Public Safety Department had and <br />welcomed Officer Thomas to the team. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked Officer Thomas for his service to the community and welcomed him to the <br />New Brighton Public Safety Department. <br />Councilmember Dunsworth congratulated Officer Thomas and wished him well in his new position with the <br />City of New Brighton. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked Officer Thomas for entering into a position of public service. <br />Officer Thomas thanked the Council for this opportunity and stated he looked forward to serving this <br />community. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1. Consider Approval of Payments of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) 8557–8597, ACH <br />Payments 8560-8595 & Vouchers 157768-157807 for a total of $1,976,929.12. <br /> <br />2. Consider Ordinance 867 which updates language on zoning enforcement and <br />enforcement activities relating to the City’s most common complaints and issues. <br /> <br />3. Consider a Resolution of summary publication for Ordinance 867. <br /> <br />4. Consideration of Quotes and Award of Contract for City Project 19-5, Brightwood <br />Hills Irrigation System. <br /> <br />5. Consideration of Letter to Ramsey County to support current ROW on Old <br />Highway 8. <br /> <br />6. Consider Agreement with City of St. Paul for Ramsey County Traffic Safety <br />Initiative (RCTSI). <br /> <br />7. Consider Ordinance 868 Amending Chapter 30 (Water) Section 30-63 Delinquent <br />Accounts of the New Brighton City Code. <br /> <br />8. Consider Resolution Accepting Donation from Antique Car Run, Inc. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked staff for their efforts on Ordinance 867 which would amend City Code <br />pertaining to zoning enforcement and zoning activities. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the Antique Car Run for their generous donation to the City. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Special Order of <br />Business <br />1.
